Here’s what’s new in Hevi this month. It’s all about speed, control, and clean hand-offs between contracts, projects, and teams.
TL;DR — What’s new at a glance
- Move files and folders between projects and contracts without re-uploading.
- Duplicate upload detection with keep/replace/skip options.
- Support for large Excel files for heavy number-crunching.
- One-click export to PDF from Chat and Contract Reviews.
- Contract Portal exports: download workflow images and a full PDF contract playbook.
- Workflow engine upgrades: business vs calendar days, “days of month” logic, recurring flows from AI extraction, richer subtasks.
- Case and dashboard filters by workflow, with case steps, case tasks, and key dates in one place and CSV export.
Below is the detail and how to use each change.
Smarter file management
Move files and folders across projects
Stop double-handling. You can now move any file or folder between projects or contracts in a few clicks.
How
- Select a file or folder in Files.
- Click Move.
- Choose the destination project and folder.
- Confirm.
Why it helps
- Keeps your project structure clean during tender to delivery hand-offs.
- Avoids duplicate uploads.
- Maintains context as work shifts between teams.
Duplicate upload detection
When you upload a file that already exists, Hevi flags it and gives you three clear choices:
- Keep all files
- Replace the existing file
- Skip the duplicate
Why it helps
- Cuts clutter.
- Prevents teams working off the wrong version.
- Keeps your single source of truth intact.
Large Excel support
You can now upload large Excel files that previously hit size limits. Feed Hevi the heavy spreadsheets used for schedules of rates, cost codes, and progress data.
Why it helps
- Bring serious number-crunching into Hevi.
- Ask AI questions against the data you actually use every day.
Faster outputs from Chat and Reviews
Export any Chat answer to PDF
Drafted a delay notice or a contract letter in Chat. Click PDF on the message to download a nicely formatted document.
Use it for
- Delay and EOT notices.
- Claim correspondence.
- Internal summaries for managers.
Export Contract Reviews to PDF or CSV
Push a full AI review into a shareable PDF or into CSV for analysis in Excel or Power BI.
Why it helps
- Share the findings with stakeholders who prefer a doc.
- Track themes across multiple tenders and suppliers.
Contract Portal: downloads that teams actually use
Download workflow images
Need a quick visual for toolbox or project kick-off. Download any workflow diagram as an image.
Why it helps
- A picture explains the process faster than text.
- Put it on the wall. Align the team.
Download a full Contract Playbook (PDF)
On the Contract Details page, once you have extracted with AI and generated the workflows, click Download Page PDF Summary.
You will get a clear, concise contract playbook that bundles:
- Key contract details.
- A simple map of the contract.
- Scope summaries.
- Every workflow with the exact contractual wording.
Why it helps
- Gives site teams the right steps at the right time.
- Locks in a single reference point for claims and notices.
- Speeds up onboarding for new people joining mid-project.
Workflow engine: more control, fewer misses
Precise deadline logic
When setting due dates in a workflow step, you can now choose:
- Business days or calendar days.
- X days of current month or X days of next month.
Example
- “Respond within 10 business days.”
- “Submit by 5th day of next month” for progress claims.
Richer subtasks
Add subtasks with the same triggers and date logic used in primary steps. Break complex tasks into bite-size actions without losing the audit trail.
Auto-recurring workflows from AI extraction
When Hevi’s AI extracts a schedule or obligation that repeats, it can now set the workflow as recurring automatically.
Example: Progress Claim due on the 5th of each month.
Why it helps
- The right trigger, every time.
- Fewer manual set-ups.
- Stronger compliance with time bars.
Cases and dashboards: see everything, filter fast
Filters that match how you work
Across Cases you can now sort and filter by Workflow. This is handy once you have a lot of cases flowing and want to zero in on one process.
A single view for steps, tasks, and dates
On the Dashboard you will now see:
- Case Steps in progress.
- Case Tasks assigned.
- Key Dates across all projects.
Filter by user group, contract, or assignee. Apply a contract filter like Green Valley to focus the view. Export any of these lists to CSV in one click.
Why it helps
- Real oversight for managers.
- Clear daily actions for site teams.
- Quick export when someone asks “what’s due this week.”
How to try the new features today
- Log in to Hevi. After an update you will see a small popup guiding you to what changed.
- Open Files in any project to try Move and duplicate detection.
- Upload an Excel that previously failed to process.
- In Chat, draft a letter or notice and click PDF to download.
- In Contract Portal → Contract Details, click Download Page PDF Summary to get your contract playbook.
- In Workflows, edit a flow and set business vs calendar days or “days of month” rules.
- In Cases and Dashboard, apply filters, review steps and tasks, and export to CSV.
Why this matters
Mining and construction teams do not have spare hours to wrestle with admin. The cost of a missed time bar or a messy hand-off can be huge. This release pushes Hevi toward three outcomes that matter on site:
- Speed: move files, export PDFs, and set up recurring workflows in seconds.
- Clarity: contract playbooks that any supervisor can follow.
- Control: filters, tasks, and key dates that keep claims and notices on track.
